TEXAS USA WRESTLING TOURNAMENTS
There are three experience levels in Texas USA Wrestling competition
Rookie: 1st year of competition. This starts after your first official match. Based on calander year stating March 15.
Novice: Less than 3 years of competition, AND you have NOT previously been a Novice State Finalist (1st-2nd), or placed at Open State (1st-6th)
Open: 3+ years of competition AND/OR you previously were a Novice State Finalist (1st-2nd), or placed at Open State (1st-6th)
There are multiple local tournaments in the DFW area and four national tournaments held in Texas. There is also a State tournament for each of the divisions at the end of the season.
Competition brackets are designated by age, weight class, and experience level
There are six age divisions: (child's age as of August 31, 2021)
TOT: 5y years old and under
Division 1: 7 years old and under
Division 2: 9 years old and under
Division 3: 11 years old and under
Division 4: 13 years old and under
Division 5: 15 years old and under
All participating wrestlers MUST weigh in and get their skin and fingernails checked by a USA Wrestling official the day before or the day of each tournament.

Registering your child for a tournament occurs online on the Trackwrestling website. This website keeps track of the tournaments and your child's competition record.
